After the success of The White Birch Inn, owner Brenda Patterson purchased an adjacent building in 2014 to launch White Birch Provisions that she describes as “a hip coffee haus/bakery/gourmet shop with an upstairs coffee loft.”
The opening of Provisions in 2015, was the culmination of a year-long effort researching coffee roasters, gourmet and kitchen products, concepts, brands, suppliers, decor and equipment. “We went to coffee trade shows and tasted dozens of coffees and generally learned as much as we could about coffee” Brenda recalls.
The result is an inviting atmosphere featuring an array of coffee drinks and smoothies, a variety of baked goods prepared daily, in-house, along with casseroles, soups and quiches available for takeout. White Birch Provisions features a wide selection of wines by the bottle, cigars and regional gourmet foods. Local artwork and fun kitchen items are also available for sale.
During the pandemic all customers and staff are required to wear masks inside. There is a regular program of ongoing cleaning and sanitation, and some seating has been removed to facilitate social distancing.
