The Lake Rabun Hotel & Restaurant is a hidden gem located in a nook of Lake Rabun Road where you can experience the true flavor of the mountains. Relax in a completely natural setting and enjoy what many call β€œthe best food in Georgia.” Wake in the mornings to a gourmet breakfast in the hotel’s comfortable dining room or al fresco on the deck.

Lake Rabun Hotel & Restaurant celebrated its 95th birthday in 2017. It’s the last surviving mountain lodge on a lake in Georgia. Because it has stayed true to the look and the feeling of another, perhaps more peaceful, time, it’s been called both a regional and a national treasure. For decades, generations have enjoyed the beauty of the lake and mountains. Carefully restored by preservationists in 2008 to maintain its ancestral charm, it features gardens of native plants, rock pillars and walkways, locust log decks, and balconies with views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains.

The relaxed atmosphere in the hotel rubs off on you.  It doesn’t take long before you’ll feel at home. There’s a baby grand piano for talented guests to play, board games in the parlor, a cozy bar and casual, fine farm-to-table dining in the restaurant.  Most appealing, however, is the opportunity to be immersed in nature without the intrusion of phones and TVs, which you won’t find in the rooms. Both the parlor and bar are available for those who wish to watch TV.  Wireless Internet is available throughout the hotel, and in all of the cottages.

Tastefully appointed rooms with private baths, downy queen-sized beds and old fashioned charm will wrap you in comfort. Colorful oriental rugs and local fine art throughout the hotel give the place a feeling of old world charm and elegance which garnered it a coveted spot on National Geographic Traveler’s Annual Top Stay List of hotels in the U.S., Canada, Caribbean and Mexico. It has also consistently earned a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for both lodging and dining from 2011 through 2019.

Selected as a Top 10 Best Farm to Table Restaurant in Georgia, the restaurant is brushed with international flavors with seasonal menus inspired by locally grown produce and accommodating vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free preferences. They feature humanely raised meats and wild-caught seafood. One of the most popular signature dishes is the Pecan Encrusted Mountain Trout named by Explore Georgia as one of the β€œTop 100 Meals Loved by Locals.” Guests enjoy dining in both the rustic dining room and in the dramatic Locust Log and Tree Top decks surrounded by pines, old growth oaks, and hemlocks. The ambiance is casual and friendly. Since 2012, the restaurant has been consistently awarded the Diner’s Choice Award by Open Table and selected as one of the β€œ100 Best Brunches in the Nation.”

Whether it’s mountain adventures, vineyard or distillery tours, or a quiet, peaceful time with wonderful farm-to-table food and relaxing Spa services, you’ve come to the right place.  Do as much or as little as you like. The Lake Rabun Hotel & Restaurant is at your service.
