NGCP had long been in search of a theater home. As stated in their 2004 Rhapsody in Rabun application, they sought funding for their dream, a building in which to house their equipment, costumes, sets, and props. After much searching on the part of NGCP, the City of Dillard stepped forward to help make the dream come true. Dillard had long hoped to establish a Cultural Arts Center in one wing of the Dillard City Hall. The two groups were able to combine their hopes by NGCP leasing the auditorium and one wing of the Dillard City Hall (Old Dillard School).
Their portion of the building gives NGCP several empty classrooms to use for storage or dressing rooms, as well as the auditorium. The volunteer group, Home Improvement Ministry (H.I.M. from Clayton Baptist Church) supplied some manpower to assist NGCP with auditorium updates. The stage has been extended and many repairs made. NGCP has purchased new sound equipment, an air conditioning-heating system, and new lighting to enhance the enjoyment of theatergoers. It is a work in progress and a labor of love.
Now the local community of all ages perform plays and musicals with bounding talent to theater goers throughout the year.
