As its name suggests, Blue Ridge Honey Company is all about honey, bees, bees wax and pollen and beekeeping. Located on Highway 441 in Lakemont, Blue Ridge Honey Co. is a family business, owned and operated by Bob and Suzette Binnie.
They offer a wide array of honey varieties including Gallberry, Orange Blossom, Purple Starthistle, Sourwood, Wildflower, Tupelo and Tulip Poplar – each with its own color and distinctive flavor.
Blue Ridge’s bee yards are located in Northeast Georgia, Western North Carolina and South Georgia producing honey that is pure, natural and raw. They do not pasteurize or micro filter their honey. Their honey is inspected and approved through a third party Food Safety and Quality Audit conducted by NSF Cook & Thurber and they are also licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture and inspected by the Commodities Inspection Division.
They wholesale and retail honey, pollen and beeswax products – including candles — as well as produce bees and queens for sale along with equipment for the aspiring beekeeper.
Bob has 40 years of beekeeping experience and was named 2003 Georgia State Beekeeper of the Year. He naturally handles all beekeeping and sales while Suzette manages the office, website and shipping department.
Everything they offer is available for purchase online and they ship all over. They also now produce wedding favors/gift jars for those special events. For a unique treat, stop by the Blue Ridge Honey Company or visit them online.
