Join us for a Torch and Flag Fun Run through the City of Clayton. We will remember back to when the Olympics were in Atlanta, Georgia and the Olympic Flame was carried through Rabun County on its way to the torch. This was a fabulous time in the history of our county and we will embrace the memory by creating our own torch run.
We will have local hero marathon runner and former Park Ranger for Black Rock Mountain State Park, Anthony Lampros carry a torch made by some Rabun County High School Students along Guy Goeber, 4 Time State Champion Cross Country Runner for Rabun County High School carry the Bicentennial banner. The participating runners will run with these two iconic runners for Rabun County. The Fun Run will end at the Pavilions in Clayton for a ceremonial lighting of the torch.
Local business owner, Beanie Ramey, will be our Grand Marshal of this fun and commemorative Fun Run and has graciously donated the use of her property, Ramey Boulevard. We are so appreciative of Ms. Ramey and wanted to honor her support.
You will surely want to line the streets or join in the fun run and then join us at the Pavilions in Clayton behind the Civic Center to cheer on the runners as they cross the finish line.
Tickets are on sale now at Torch & Flag Fun Run Tickets. They are $15 each if you register before July 22nd. Day of registration will be $20. You will receive an awesome Bicentennial Torch and Flag Fun Run T-shirt.
