The Farmhouse is a store with a split personality. One part donuts, one-part home décor, one part clothing. That unique combination makes The Farmhouse both one-of-a-kind and a can’t-miss on any visit to downtown Clayton.
Owners Steven and Nancie Sheardown started in the business in 2011 as SDS designs, making custom made furniture; specializing in zinc, copper, concrete, wood tables and home design. In 2017, the couple opened The SDS Farm House in Bradenton, Fla., pairing their custom-made designs alongside donuts. A year later, they brought that concept to Rabun County.
The coffee shop features donuts, coffee, fraps, espressos, cold brews, lattes and ice cream. And not just any donuts. Over 20 custom flavors including Cow Pattie, Hay Stack, Cotton Gin and Mary Lou among others. Or you can build your own choosing from seven different icings, 18 toppings and seven drizzle flavors. They also offer sandwiches for breakfast and lunch featuring eggs, cheese, ham, bacon or sausage.
For home décor, The Farmhouse specializes in tables custom-made using zinc, copper, wood and concrete. The store also carries the full line of “Of These Mountains” clothing and apparel.
As the owners say: “We are more than just donuts. We also offer a wide variety of home decor and Of These Mountains clothing! Open every day of the week. Yumminess never disappoints!”
