at The Red Barn Café at Tiger Mountain!
The historic Red Barn located at Tiger Mountain Vineyards on the Ezzard Farm was refurbished in 2012. Winery owners John and Martha Ezzard and John and Marilyn McMullan carefully preserved the original wood in the 75-year-old structure whose magnificent vine-covered silo is the entry to the vineyards. Dr. John Ezzard once milked cows in the barn, built by his father, who started a dairy business on the five-generation- old family property before WWII. The Ezzards and McMullans created a rustic , elegant café from which the old barn doors open to scenic farm views, and they added a rock patio where guests can dine looking our on the vineyards and Tiger Mountain.
Chef Charles Maddrey of Hemlock Springs Farm, is known for his creative dishes made from fresh and local ingredients, and Lisa Ezzard, wine steward, offers suggested wine pairings for each. Dinner is served from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings –and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Small plates, including a vintner’s plate of pate’ fruit and cheeses, are offered for guests who want to enjoy a favorite glass of Tiger Mountain’s award winning wines before or after a wine tasting in the winery tasting room.

Tiger Mountain, the first of Georgia’s fine wine vineyards, grows its own grapes and has won more than 200 medals in the last 12 years, including a double gold, best of class, in the 2012 Los Angeles International and a double gold, best of show, in the 2014 International Eastern Competition.

Beautifully refurbished, the 75 year old Red Barn at Tiger Mountain was once a dairy barn where Dr. John Ezzard, current owner and winemaker, milked cows as a boy. With a spectacular view of the vineyards, visitors can enjoy fine cuisine, a glass of 100% Georgia-grown wine, and the warmth and beauty of North Georgia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Open April through November, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, The Red Barn Café features live jazz, bluegrass, and folk music.
