Grapes & Beans Café

An institution on Savannah Street, Grapes & Beans Café has been serving up local, seasonal and sustainable cuisine for over 20 years.

Grapes & Beans is a quaint little restaurant, spirits, wine and coffee shop nestled in the heart of downtown Clayton. They serve lunch and dinner, eat-in or carry-out, and use local and organic ingredients whenever possible. The menu includes fresh soups, salads, several entrees for vegetarians, vegans and meat-eaters alike and wholesome homemade treats. Along with fresh local produce and meat whenever possible.

Grapes & Beans features locally-sourced, hand-crafted cuisine and thoughtfully selected wine, beer and craft cocktails. Enjoy the Café’s espresso drinks with locally homemade cakes.

Originally opened as a Wine and Coffee Shop, it grew into a Café. New Owners, Scott and Jill Merkle, took over the restaurant in 2018 keeping the original name given its great history and reputation. Jill, who is an Interior Designer, re-imaged the space and gave it a groovy vibe.

“Grapes & Beans is run by a local family. The chef is local as well,” Scott notes. “Our goal is to be as friendly and welcoming as possible. We hope that you will come enjoy our atmosphere and feel at home.”

Besides hand-crafted cuisine, the café offers specially selected spirits, wine and beer and espresso coffee. The covered porch is pet-friendly and both indoor and outdoor dining options are available.

“Enjoy a quiet afternoon relaxing on our patio, furry friends welcome,” Scott adds. “We also offer locally sourced cuisine and thoughtfully selected wines and craft beers.”
