A treeline at Dick's Knob

With an elevation of 4,620 feet (estimated), Dick’s Knob is the third-highest peak in the State of Georgia. It is the second-highest mountain in the county and is located in the Southern Nantahala Wilderness in the Chattahoochee National Forest. It is part of the Pot Gap Ridge sub-range of the Tennessee Valley Divide mountain range. It is located at latitude N 34.98579 and longitude W -83.52178 and can be found on the United States Geographical Survey map USGS Hightower Bald quad.

Dick’s Knob is not easily accessible through any established hiking trail and care should be taken in trying to reach it. Some information about access and blazing a trail can be found here and here and here and possibly here.
